In Music class, the Watermelon's have been exploring an array of musical instruments (e.g., the drums, the guitar, the violin) and singing a variety of songs- old and new! In addition, the students have been using puppets to act out musical stories and songs. The Watermelons have thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing with Robert, the music teacher.
Last week, the Watermelons were given the opportunity to observe and pet a handful of animals with Gabby from the Art Farm! Gabby introduced the class to a Guinea Pig, a frog and a lizard. The students brushed the Guinea Pig's fur, observed the frog moving around in his cage, and felt the Lizard's rough skin. In addition, the Watermelon's participated in a sorting activity regarding different animals and their habitats. The students talked about the rainforest, ocean, desert, and ponds. Over the past few weeks, the Watermelons have participated in a variety of exciting adventures! The students have been exploring their new classroom in Social Studies, exercising at Recess Program, drawing in Art class, and learning and growing in Reading and Math class. In addition, we have been enjoying the beautiful weather on the rooftop playground and at Asphalt Green Park! |
